Traditions of Deerfield Resident Testimonials

Have a Great Deerfield Experience?

We moved Mom to Traditions a month ago because of her progressing dementia, and my brother and I can’t be more pleased about our decision. The directors and staff have been extremely, professional, helpful and caring every step of the way. Brooke, the Admissions Director, and Sarah, the Executive Director, have been warm and attentive to every concern. Whitney, the Wellness Director, and her assistant, Nikki, both really care and really listened when I discussed with them my mom’s daily routine and needs. And they have followed through on everything we discussed. The nurses and aids are all kind and cheerful and go the extra mile to make Mom feel comfortable, cared for, and at home. There are a nice variety of activities. Socialization is something really important for Mom, and the aids remind her daily of the activities they know she enjoys and will walk her to them. The staff in the dining room are also great… very friendly and pleasant. They know that my mom is lactose intolerant and are already looking out for her and guiding her with food choices. The food is also excellent. I have eaten there, myself, several times. The place is immaculate, bright, cheerful and comfortable. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained. There are plenty of areas for the residents to sit outside and enjoy the outdoors, which is something my mom likes to do. The residents are also wonderful. They are very friendly, kind, and seem to really care and look out for one another. Again, I can’t say enough good things about Mom’s stay already at Traditions. We are so grateful to the whole team. They have given us such peace of mind, and they do such a beautiful job of making life so pleasant for my mom and all the residents there.

After extensive research in the Cincinnati area, on Saturday, August 5, 2023, the choice to move one of our family members into Traditions of Deerfield became a reality! This Assisted Living facility is nothing short of wonderful! It is a very spacious and beautiful place both inside and outside.Traditions, for us, offered a good fit for a one bedroom apartment to meet our family member's needs. The attractive, highlighted points were the beautiful dining room and hostesses with continuous food services from 7a-7p with many great options that matched our loved one's style, weekly housekeeping, many social activities to engage in depending on your hobbies and interests and the very attentive staffed employees. The medical staff at Traditions will evaluate your loved one's healthcare needs. They will, along with family members, select the best level of care your family member may require. Other amenities Traditions of Deerfield offer are shuttle, hair salon, and laundry. These are just a few services to name, but I am sure there are still other amenities we have not listed. The staff is very welcoming, kind, compassionate, helpful, understanding and cares very much about their residents day to day needs. We can't express enough how positive the staff is with their smiles on their faces all day long! Our family would like to extend our tremendous gratitude to the Tradition's Family and Staff for the ease of which we transitioned our family back to the area she once lived most of her adult life in the Cincinnati area to be closer to immediate family members. A very special thank you to Brooke Sesher, Admissions, for her kindness, understanding, listening skills , grace, care, support and extraordinary efforts with our family member's transition. Brooke, you are the true bright light and face for Traditions of Deerfield! In addition, thank you so very much to Sarah Rieger, Executive Director, Whitney Mettler, Wellness Director, and Harry, head of maintenance. This all could not have happened smoothly without your support and true professionalism. We know we made the right choice for our family member's long term living arrangements and healthcare here at Traditions of Deerfield!

My stepmom is now at Traditions of Deerfield. It's very nice. It's decorated great and very comfy. Everyone has been nice, and because she has Alzheimer's, they are working with her. She has some behavioral issues, too. They call me every day and they let me know how she's doing. The interaction with the staff has been good. It's great. Her room is very bright and comfortable. She has her own bathroom, which she'll need help with, but that's okay because they help her. They do a survey, so you tell them what your loved one used to like to do, and so they try to do fun things around those. They have activities every day. They even take them on outings, but my stepmom has not been out. They have a movie theater that they take them down to. I don't know the staff well, but when I met them, they were very friendly and they offered to help.

My sister and I arrived at Traditions late one night from the airport and Roxanne, the Move-in-Coordinator, was there to greet us. She immediately took Pat under her wing and made her feel welcome. And that was the just the beginning. Since then, many of her caretakers--as well as the staff--have shown a genuine desire to not only help her adjust but assist her with her daily needs. I am grateful for their tender support.

Nice facility, with award winning chef. Very friendly staff and and community seems to like it from their comments.

My mom has moved into Traditions of Deerfield in Loveland, and she's been there for a month now. It's a very nice place, and she feels safer. She gets a lot of the necessary attention she needs and she seems to be pretty content. Her room is a pretty good size, it's a studio and it's pretty big. She has a big bathroom. A lot of others we saw were pretty small and the showers were very narrow, but hers is wide and easy to get in and out to accommodate handicaps. They're very attentive to her. She seems to be satisfied with the food and she has good choices, too. She likes it pretty well. They're very personable and professional. We get calls if there's any concern, and they keep the family informed. They have a lot to offer to residents when it comes to activities. These places are expensive wherever you go, but I'd say this place is worth it. It's very wide open and it's secured, too.

I have a parent in assisted living and one in memory care. The staff have been very accommodating to meet the different needs of my parents and have been a great support system for me as well.
— Kathleen P.
The staff was friendly and made you feel welcome. The rooms are very spacious and had a lot of natural light. Happy hour seems to be the best part of the day in the late afternoon and early evening.

My Dad has lived in Memory Care for almost a year. The staff has been very accommodating to his changing needs and responsive to my input as well. His room is bigger than most memory care units I’ve toured and he does have his own shower. The aesthetics of memory care are very nice with a large kitchen/dining room area and open living room and activity area. The enclosed courtyard is also a step above others I’ve seen. The memory care director has worked to bring in high quality nurses and caregivers for the residents here and that has made a world of difference for me and my parents. I want nurses and caregivers who care about my Dad as a person and not just someone doing the job for a paycheck and Traditions has done that for me. The memory care staff feels like family.

Our mother, Florence, currently resides in your Traditions of Deerfield, Ohio facility. On Monday, December 16, Florence turned 101 years of age. We celebrated this wonderful occasion with a party on Saturday, December 14. The party was held at the Traditions Dining Room and over 100 friends, family and residents attended. We are writing this letter to you to express our heartfelt thanks to the staff, caregivers and leadership of the Traditions of Deerfield facility for making this celebration so amazing and terrific. The Activities Director, Angie and her staff coordinated all the preparations and decorations. Chef John and his staff prepared delicious food items that had everyone raving. Just as importantly, all the caregivers had the opportunity to participate (if only for a brief period due to their work schedules) and share good cheer with Florence. For all of this, we would like to highly commend the entire staff of the Deerfield Traditions facility!!!

The atmosphere at Traditions of Deerfield is like nothing we have seen at other senior living facilities. The residents all deeply care for one another and have formed true friendships. The staff, including the nurses, aides, kitchen staff, office personnel, receptionists, housekeeping staff and activities folks all demonstrate genuine caring for all the residents. We are so pleased our Mom is getting such great care. During her birthday party, it was heartwarming to see so many of her new Traditions friends in attendance helping her to celebrate.

Again, please accept our sincerest thanks for all of the terrific work that the Traditions of Deerfield staff performed to make Florence's 101st birthday celebration so wonderful and amazing!!

My dad stayed in Traditions of Deerfield for three weeks. The place was very nice and the room was very accommodating. They have a chef, which I think he appreciated because he's finicky about food, and getting him good food was important for his particular situation. He wasn't mobile and couldn't really get up and ambulate on his own, but they were flexible and made different things for him. I have no qualms about their quality of food or the chef. I just had a couple of drawbacks about them. The food given to him was cold upon occasion, and when my mom went there to visit once, there were a bunch of dishes piled up in the sink. The staff was very nice, though. They were responsive, and they worked with us on price. The biggest drawback was what happened during Christmas. Nobody could come in and visit there and we get it, that it's because of COVID. Overall, it was about as we expected. He was getting physical therapy to come in, since they don't have any physical therapy folks onsite, so they had to outsource them. We had fun, and I had good communication with them. Price-wise they were comparable to the other facilities.

My mother has been a resident of Traditions of Deerfield for 10 months. Believe me, she was not happy about going to assisted living and I struggled about whether we were making the right decision to move her. The answer to that is a definite YES! The staff at Traditions helped her to feel right at home and there are so many activities for the residents to take part in. The other residents were welcoming and helpful as well. Traditions is a beautiful facility filled with beautiful people who really care about the residents. The food is really good too!
— Karrin S.
I moved here two years ago after living alone became more upkeep than I wanted to deal with. Moving to Traditions of Deerfield went very smooth with help from the staff. It took me a very short time to adapt to my new apartment. I can escape to my own apartment when I feel like it, or join my many new friends in games, musical entertainment or casual conversation. Meal times are flexible with daily specials or menu selection. A bus is available for outings and appointments. I am happy here and have decided that this is my last stop.

The team here is AMAZING!

Traditions of Deerfield is very nice and wonderful. The person who gave me the tour was wonderful and even though she just filled in for someone, she did a great job. The place is brand new and immaculate. There were a lot of activities going on and there was a gathering in the pub and there was beer and wine. They were having a great time. They're dog-friendly and were willing to provide solutions. It would be a viable option and I didn't think the price was out of line.

The staff at Traditions of Deerfield was very, very friendly, and very welcoming. They posted, "Welcome to Traditions," for my parents, which I thought was really nice. I took pictures and they gave me that paper. They did not come to the tour, and I guess they weren't aware of that, so I shared that with my parents. They gave us dinners to try out. Their pricing was very decent, and the assisted living facility was very clean, updated, and just beautiful. I worked with Ted, who is the community relations director, and Karen, and they were just very personable and very attentive. I really enjoyed the staff. We're Jewish and they are looking to invite more of the Jewish community into their facility. I just loved everything about it. I have followed up with them as well and told them we're gonna put this on hold. They offered incentives prior to moving in by accommodating us, that we would have to pay more out-of-pocket until the VA benefits. I met the activities director. Everybody was just very warm and welcoming. It was a great atmosphere, and I shared that with my parents. It's a nice facility overall. Great satisfaction with my visit. I visited during COVID times, so the activities were very limited. I met the activities director, and I looked at the schedule of events, and it's nice that there are things there like muscle strengthening, and that's great. The dining area was very elegant and very inviting. There were no tablecloths on the table because of COVID, and two people were seated at the table versus four now. Everybody is vaccinated. It's a clean facility. They have a pub and that's where they carry a lot of their different activities and happy hour. There are a lot of things that they can engage in, and I've talked to my parents about that, too, quality of life and enrichment of life.

Traditions of Deerfield was very nice. Everything was very clean. We were there for a luau and different things. They were very pleasant in showing us everything. It was one of the first ones I have visited, and it's been three years since I was there. The staff was very helpful, and the food was very good. We were looking for a place that had a garage because at that time, both my husband and I were driving and we had cars. They didn't have garages there. It was very nicely kept. They had the fitness room and three levels of care there: independent, assisted and memory.

I liked the atmosphere of the community. The building is new and beautiful.

We went to quite a few places to tour and I just had a really good feeling with Traditions. The staff was amazing and always got back to me and answered all of the questions I had. It is clean, open, and his apartment is perfect size for him. He seems to be happy with the staff members and gets along well with them. They are all so friendly and helpful and go above and beyond. I never have to worry about him and I have peace of mind. Overall we have been very happy with our experience.

We could not be happier about the entire experience with Traditions of Deerfield! From the beginning, we felt like it was the perfect fit for mom! Roxanne was amazing with walking us through the process of moving Mom in. The rest of the staff couldn't have been more welcoming, too! Mom has made several friends since moving in and is enjoying all the activities and the amazing food! She is happy to call Traditions her new home!

Mark,
I spoke to the daughter this morning and she told me she chose your community-CONGRATULATIONS! What you may not know is why and to what lengths she went to check many options. The daughter has a background in geriatric social work, so she has much more exposure to senior care than an average person. She went to six different communities and talked to in home care agencies as well. She told me the reason she chose your community is the way you presented it. She said that you showed concern about her mother and whole family. The other 5 communities did not. She also said that you seemed very genuine and knowledgeable. Some of the other communities were more expensive and some were less expensive. You, alone, had the biggest impact on her decision. I hope we work together in the future!
Sincerely,
— Ann C.

On behalf of my sister and I, I just wanted to afford in advance our sincere thanks and appreciation to you and your team at Traditions of Deerfield, for your assistance and care of our Dad! In January 2018, my wife and I provided care for approximately two weeks in our home. I garnered a newfound respect for all who are engaged in the care of our beloved seasoned citizens. It truly entails the trait of a servant's heart to provide the daily care and attention warranted in our senior facilities. Again, many thanks.

The best place that I have found in Cincinnati after visiting 10+ establishments. My parents lived at another facility prior to Traditions and I have seen their lives improve manyfold. The staff are excellent and so helpful. I would recommend Traditions to everyone. Karly was wonderful and of tremendous help to me and my family. Overall--great!

The staff at Traditions is amazing and we couldn't be more pleased. My dad is a handful and can be very difficult one moment and pleasant another, so I really appreciate everyone and their caring spirit. Again, thank you for all the help during our first week. I can't say enough about the staff from the nurses, CNAs, dining room to Debbie the coordinator.

Karly arranged my move from my home into Traditions. Everything went very smoothly. After a few days, Traditions became my new home and I am happy I made the change. Food, room service and new friends have all been positives. This is as good as this time-of-life allows. Have recommended Traditions to my friends.

My husband has been a resident of Traditions of Deerfield Memory Care for four weeks. I would like to compliment the entire staff on their wonderful service to the community. They always have a smile on their faces and are ready to help in any way they can. This can be first seen as you enter the front door and are greeted and then proceed back to the Memory Care area. All of the nurses, aids and activities personnel are very helpful and knowledgeable about each resident's wants and needs. The maintenance department is available to provide any needed service and with a smile. The meals are very good and a wonderful variety. The building is very well designed and furnished and has a very homey atmosphere. Again, thank you to the administration for providing such a wonderful environment for my husband and the other residents.
— Maureen D.
It's wonderful. It feels so homey to me. I just love it. I feel so comfortable. The only problem is that I'm always getting woken up from my naps because the nurses/caregivers check on me all the time. Oh, and I've been here for two months and I haven't fallen once.
— Leona T.
My wife passed away in 2016. I have only one child who wanted me to live with her. She has four teenagers at home, so I didn't want to upset their life. But my daughter wanted me to be close to her, so she suggested Deerfield. I arrived April 1st and everything has been wonderful. I've had two strokes and I needed good healthcare. I get that here. I have met numerous friends and every night I eat with the same bunch. Food is good here, a lot of activity to keep me busy. I love this place!!
— Tom G.
The people here are beautiful. The place is beautiful. The outside spaces are nicer than nice. I can't say enough nice things.
— Deanne S.
I'm happy with the food. I get plenty. I get more than I need actually. I especially like the breakfast!
— Chuck B.
We just tested the rocking chairs on the outside patio and they were great!
— Chuck B.
I love Traditions of Deerfield. They were very welcoming and almost bent over backward when we came in. I liked all their amenities. They have a nice gathering room for everyone to get together, and they have a nice library, an activity room, and a chapel. The rooms were very pleasant and the food was good. I liked everything about this community. They had a lot to offer.
— Marie
Beautiful indoor and outdoor living spaces, a caring staff, lots of activities, good food and friends to enjoy it with...who could ask for anything more?
