Meet Cora Overberg, this month’s Featured Resident of the Month! Cora is a resident at Traditions of Deerfield and has lived there for the last year and a half. Cora’s family helped her decide to move when she needed a little extra support. With her husband living nearby and her children close, she’s found comfort, connection, and community at Traditions of Deerfield.

Cora was born in Jellico, Tennessee, and moved to Cincinnati at 18, where she met her husband. They were married in 1965 and have two daughters and one son. Both Cora and her husband worked for the same company, where she served as a receptionist and telephone operator, and he worked as an inspector.

Whether she’s painting, visiting with friends, or simply enjoying the company of others, Cora thrives on being social. She loves spending time with her family and appreciates the warm, welcoming atmosphere at Traditions of Deerfield.

"Cora was chosen because she is kind and funny and a good-hearted, loving person. Cora is out talking with residents, families, and staff every day. She tries to help other residents; she volunteers at the reception desk during the staff's lunch break. Cora tries to make life funny; she can be seen making funny YouTube videos. She truly cares about people and her home here at Traditions of Deerfield. We are grateful for people like Cora in our community." Kristen Kelly, Executive Director, Traditions of Deerfield.

Cora would love to see more church services offered in the community, believing many residents would enjoy and benefit from them. Faith has always been an important part of her life, and she hopes to share that experience with others.

Congratulations Cora!
